It has been quite a while since I have updated this journal and so much has happened since. I am Grand Inquisitor no longer and have not been for a while now. Allowing the false queen back in proved to be - as I predicted - an enormous mistake and she won her way back to the throne. Once again heresy and darkness rules the country I was tasked to tame.

I am deeply ashamed of this failure. My failure to the gods and to the poor people of this kingdom, who could have led righteous lives within the light of the gods but must now persist in the claws of darkness. With the first vampire tolerated I should have purged the town of all deviation immediately, especially the captain of the guard who kept interfering with my holy affairs. Despite my patience I have heard they still regard me as a monster back there... foolish slander enforced by their wicked demon-loving ruler.

But I seek to not to shift blame. I had power and I failed to use it and thus I have imposed on myself an excommunication of sorts. I will travel the lands and seek to root out evil where I find it. Perhaps one day I shall be granted power by the gods and the people again, but I will understand if they have decided I am not fit for it.

Inquisitor Mauricio

It has been a long time since I have written in my journal. I remember the days of my youth where I would document my experiences and thoughts each and every day, think about what the titans taught me by turning mind into word.


I am nearly the inquisitor of this city for a year and I feel I have made great progress, the once godless, licentious wicked crowd that makes up the population of Rayneth can now be found praying within this temple almost every day. I hope this year has been one of revelation for the common people and I hope the year to come will only increase their faith in our holy titans.


But sadly not all is well. Underneath - or some might say above - this pious commendable crowd the higher echelons of Rayneth are slipping into religious decay and I feel I should make it my top priority to cut this off before it can spread and destroy what I have worked hard to build. Sadly those who support this tiny nation are in general vital to it remaining upright, I cannot remove or solve any of these problems easily without creating even bigger ones.

First off, Phoenix the Overseer of Magic. It is not unheard of for the overseer of magic to dabble in dark arts, this is sadly a necessity, it allows them to recognize these practices within less trustworthy magicians and destroy them accordingly. Phoenix however does not simply practice.

Her marrying a vampire is a tremendous insult to this temple and this very nation and as further insult she is now expecting something even more vile and disgusting.

It is extremely likely that she has already sealed her fate, which is pitiful for she truly is a strong and capable woman. For a long time I felt she was my strongest and most trustworthy ally, I know now that I was mistaken in this.

Despite all this the overseer still keeps all the mages in line, I have not heard of any other perversion within their ranks which is quite an accomplishment. She is also the teacher of the oracle, who I will discuss in greater detail later, which makes her too important to forcibly remove.

That one day she must be cast down from her position however, is an unavoidable fact that I should prepare for. There are many who could take her place such as Aloran, who despite his disreputable race has never given me reason for doubt, and is old, pious and wise.


To further discuss her vampire, whose name I shall not write down here. It escaped its judgement and as I expected it indirectly used the overseer to do so and she herself does not even realise this. The esteemed general of the guard and the inspector of the empire advised to allow him to aid the empire however, as long as he remains accounted for. Foolish and short-sighted, but I was forced to comply in order to maintain good relations with these allies, that may prove vital when I make a new push for the vampire’s destruction in the future.


Another, possibly greater point of worry however, is the oracle once known as Quincy Bird. Some days I wonder if she had ever even become an oracle if I had not pushed her to take the position of high priestess, which now sadly belongs to the dark-elf princess who previously ruled this nation.

I believe that her ascension was a gift, a sign of the titans, maybe even to me. But she too has been displaying worrying behaviour that cannot be ignored. She came to the defence of a demon not long ago. It was a lesser demon and her advice ultimately proved to be factual, but still she defended this vile spawn.

I wonder if I have been making the correct decisions concerning her. It is clear that she needs guidance, although one might wonder if her teacher was well-chosen in retrospect. I would hope an oracle that possesses a direct connection to the titans, would quash heresy with a vengeance to rival my own.

I must keep myself informed about her, so much is clear, if she too becomes corrupted this nation will be doomed because of me, I shall not let that happen.


For all the darkness and corruption that is plaguing Rayneth however, the light is also getting stronger. Urgoth is now the master templar and already has a squire that may soon become a templar as well. I must make bolstering the ranks of the clergy a top priority, those who see the light better than others, those who have the favour of the titans must gather and thrive.


In closing, this is a trying time but there is hope. The titans' influence is stronger in Rayneth than it ever was before and with my vigilance and strength I will further this growth until I die.

Grand Inquisitor Mauricio

A great terror has stricken the temple. A while ago it was attacked and robbed by a mysterious individual, I have described him numerous times in my notes and as such will not repeat the description here, I hardly need to write it down anymore. It is burned into my mind as fiercely as that depraved scum, that heathen, will burn on the fire for all to see!

He's been hiding himself well, he is like a rat, brash when there is no danger but quick to shiver and hide when a predator that will consume it arrives. He shall not last long when he is caught, I do not believe I shall even have to imprison him. He shall die at once, in a way that'll make him suffer in a way worse than he can even imagine.

But not all is grim, although that which is not is but idle relief. Quincy Bird, a citizen who shared with me crucial wisdom is training to become a priestess while an orc friend of her named Urgoth, his tribe slaughtered by the empire, has sworn his services as a templar. Sadly, it shall be a long while still before the human woman can be trusted with any sort of command, and she is the only reason I didn't condemn the orc in the first place.

Of course I doubt his reasons for being a templar, I have thoroughly read the report on him, on the deal that was struck with him. He may see it as an escape, some sort of relief, what a fool he is. But at least a fool who's brutal muscle will be of use to the temple, in these times we can use all we can get. And even still, the light may call upon him yet, even a creature as primitive as he should recognize the greatness of our Gracious Titans.

Then there is of course, the Grandmaster Alchemist. He is a strange man, his ways are cruel but efficient. Most faces are like a book to me but his... it is like I can only glimpse the cover and I dare wonder if there is even anything underneath. It would be unfortunate if I were to discover his alignments lie not with the titans or the temple, I have the feeling he may be of great use to yet me sometime in the future that only the titans know.

In closing, my progress in Rayneth has been slow but certain, and I shall not fail. No matter how many bodies this wretched town's salvation may cost. By the titans I swear, one day it will be pure and clean.

Following the expansion of the great and just empire I find myself in the town once went under the name of Rayneth Kingdom.

I can see that this doomed town has suffered much under the rule of the wicked drow princess and the king. I have a read as much as I could about those days, they were monsters. How long did a demon not terrorize the poor folk, uncaught, unstopped? I highly suspect that this demon was but a cruel toy of the drow, to torture and feast upon the souls of the poor townsfolk. Furthermore, their book of law forbids any duck to enter this town? What the reasoning behind this strange law is I still wonder. One theory is that this random law was yet another cruel torture upon the minds of the townsfolk, a mad law designed to turn the poor folk just as mad as the drow were. I shall have to find (and destroy) mad citizens if I encounter them, they can confirm this theory and I will not allow them to spread their madness.

After hours of hard work I finally managed to clean the temple, cobwebs, filt, dirt, this place was rarely visited in the previous rule, I suspect those filthy dark elves wished to eventually press their own wicked beliefs onto the unknowing populace by making them oblivious to the beauty of the titans. I hope they all suffer terrible torment in their afterlife.

My biggest regret is that I did not come here sooner, did not sooner bring an end to the tyranical wickedness that sat here and repressed the poor souls that must have been craving for spiritual forfillment, and did not get it, I will pray every night for a year to ask the titans to forgive me for this oversight.

The priests and the guards say that the people have embraced them and their new beliefs for the most part. There is yet bitterness, that is to be expected. Sadly the little importance the titans held here must have caused many to turn to heretical ways, to false wicked gods. The dark weeds still grow and it is my task to remove them, to destroy them, and I shall not fail.

The titan of snow is letting herself be known already! She is angered, as she should be, and she desires the taste of those that disrespected her, I know it to be true! The priests, they think simple prayers will soothe her... perhaps they will eventually. But I know that the titan craves justice, and it is up to me to bring it to her. I believe that if I can tie one perverse poor soul to a pole, and offer this sinful body completely to the will of the titan, then the blizzard can be ended.
